ROCKHOUND SCOUT

Refund & Dispute Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

The short version

Rockhound Scout is a one-time purchase: $25 for 200 scans. It is not a subscription, there are no recurring charges, and there is nothing to cancel. We don’t refund unused scans or change-of-mind purchases. We will make it right if we charged you in error or the service fails.

Unused scans

A scan is real computing work, not a lookup from a pre-made list: each one actively pulls highway and geologic data and typically takes about a minute to finish, using paid computing and data services along the way. For that reason, we don’t offer refunds or exchanges for scans you’ve bought but haven’t used, and we can’t refund scans you’ve already used. Scans never expire, so you can use them whenever you like.

When we will make it right

Duplicate or mistaken charges

If you were charged twice, or charged an amount you didn’t agree to, we’ll refund the charge in full.

Failed scans

A scan that ends in an error, or that returns no hotspots, is not deducted from your balance. If a scan was deducted when it shouldn’t have been, email us and we’ll restore it.

Extended outage or a broken service

If Rockhound Scout is unavailable or not working as described for more than 7 days in a row, we’ll work to fix it and restore any scans affected. If we can’t restore working service within a reasonable time, we’ll refund your unused scans.

Charges you didn’t authorize

If you believe someone used your card without your permission to buy scans, tell us right away. We’ll investigate and refund the charge if it wasn’t authorized.

How to ask

Email RockhoundScoutApp@gmail.com with the email address on your account, the date of the charge, and a short description of the problem. We aim to reply within 3 business days. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank.

Disputes

Please contact us first if something looks wrong on your statement. We’d rather fix it directly, and it’s usually faster. This doesn’t limit your right to dispute a charge with your card issuer.

Cancellation

There is no subscription and no automatic renewal, so there is nothing to cancel. You can stop using Rockhound Scout at any time. Any scans left in your account stay there.

Your rights

Nothing in this policy limits any rights you may have under applicable Texas or federal law.
